The total population for England & Wales was 36 million, a increase of 3.5 million or 11%.
Gloucestershire was again the most populated Rugman county with 134, down 20 and less than half the total for the first time.
Counties in double figures are Surrey 49, Monmouthshire 31, London 26, Somerset 14, Glamorgan 13 and Sussex 11. In the previous 10 years there has been a move from the country to more populated areas.
